Lilith Bathory

Lilith Bathory is a main character on Netflix original series The Order. She is portrayed by Devery Jacobs.

Lilith is a member of The Knights of Saint Christopher and a former Medicum member of The Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose. She currently wears the werewolf hide, Timber.

Background[]

Lilith used to be in The Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose and was a close friend of Alyssa Drake. The two take their test together and get promoted to Medicum at the same time. Due to an incantation gone wrong Lilith was expelled and her memory of The Order was erased.

Lilith became the champion of Timber after the death of Cassie. The night she said the oath, she spent the night with Hamish and Randall getting drunk. After Hamish and Randall passed out, she went to the Hide locker and carved her name into Timber's crate.

Personality[]

Lilith is the most aggressive and short-tempered of the Knights. Among her companions, she is the most dedicated to the cause of fighting evil magic, admitting that she would not know what to do if she could not be a Knight. Lilith is the least averse to killing to meet the cause, even seeming to enjoy it.

She has trouble trusting people, like when Jack joined the Knights or Alyssa offered to help them find Randall. Lilith also has a deep contempt for magic, although this changes after remembering that she was in The Order.

While she was in The Order, Lilith used to be more kind and supportive.

During her time in The Order, Lilith learned to perform magic. Upon regaining her lost memories, she was able to brew potions and use a Destruction Incantation.

Werewolf Transformation: Lilith can transform into a werewolf.
Magic Detection: Lilith can detect when magic is used around.
Enhanced Senses: Due to her time bonded with her Hide, Lilith possessed enhanced senses.

Hamish Duke[]

At first, Hamish wasn't inclined to have Lilith in the Knights, because she acted as a substitute for his deceased girlfriend Cassie. However, over time Hamish came to accept her as more. Lilith's aggressive attitude often clashes with Hamish's passivity, leading both to frequently clash over his decisions. However, despite their discord, she respects him as her leader and does as she is told.

Randall Carpio[]

Lilith frequently looks down on Randall and thinks of him as a fool. However, she does this with the confidence of a friend and partner. Over time, Lilith comes to appreciate him a lot and feared for his life when he went missing. She even hugged him after his rescue, which she quickly followed up by slapping him in the face. She later even admitted that she is in love with him and reciprocated his romantic advancements. After kissing him during the battle against The Order, Lilith smiled cheerfully, which surprised Hamish.

Jack Morton[]

Among the Knights, Lilith was the most dissatisfied with letting Jack join because he was part of The Order, which immediately marked him as an enemy. She came to trust him as Jack proved to be on her side, even trying to help him control his powers.

Alyssa Drake[]

Lilith and Alyssa were best friends during Freshman year at Belgrave University. They even joined The Order together. Alyssa says that Lilith was the reason she dared to improve herself and that she always was the greatest support for her. The girls shared many personal details about their lives, including their family history and grief. Alyssa was forced to use Pulveris memoria on Lilith when the latter's methods grew too cruel. Upon the erasure of her memories, Lilith treated Alyssa with rudeness and distrust like with any other member of The Order. However, after recovering her memories, Lilith suffered a fit of anger when she realized Alyssa made her forget their friendship. Lilith later affirms that she used to love Alyssa like a sister.

Nicole Birch[]

Nicole was assigned to Lilith and tasked with wiping her memories with the Pulveris memoria of The Order and The Knights of Saint Christopher, but they end up falling for each other and started dating.

- Interestingly, the name "Lilith" is the same as the "mother of all demons" in Jewish mythology.
Bathory was the family name of historical mass murderer Elizabeth Bathory.
